Welcome

Mangia e Scappa is a definite stop for an authentic Italian experience, with Chefs from Venice, Bologna and Roma. It is a family-owned bakery, café (serving Sicilian coffee), trattoria with a Wood-Burning oven imported from Italy, and a unique Specialty Italian Mercato, selling fresh pasta, homemade bread, burrata and buffalo mozzarellas, salamis and ready-made meals and much more. Our goal is to help families with busy lifestyles enjoy healthy Italian food, takeout, dine-in or shop online. The trattoria (restaurant), patio and piazza (south-facing courtyard), offers lunch, dinner, Italian cocktails and brunch on weekends. Come join us in our Trattoria for a family meal, or visit the Mercato and put together some ingredients of your own.

Mercato

Giulia’s long time aspiration was to bring an Italian grocery to the Fraser Valley, and save you the trip to downtown Vancouver. Her passion was to share the simplicity of Italian cooking and traditions. The Mercato shelves are stocked with Italian staples including freshly made pasta.

Giulia’s goal is to help families with busy lifestyles, enjoy healthy, fresh Italian food. This all began with a selection of frozen ready-made meals to help families organize their weekly meals. Our suppliers import directly from Italy, so that you experience authenticity, and not re-branding. Visit our deli today for a selection of cured meats, fresh burrata, buffala and aged-cheeses.

Piadine

Piadine, Italian Flatbread, is how Mangia e Scappa came to be. Giulia has been preparing Piadine in her kitchen for over 20 years, feeding her family and friends.

Pasta Making

Sergio Cinti, Pasta Chef from Bologna, is here every Saturday making fresh pasta for the restaurant, and for customers in our Mercato to enjoy at home.

RazzMaJazz

Dave Quinn brings his personality, charm and engaging music to Mangia e Scappa every Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m. Performing Italian and jazz music through the ages on clarinet and saxophone, Dave brings in a guest piano player or guitarist each week, creating a warm...
